The well-known problem: a reversing camera cannot be easily fitted to vehicles with rear doors. If you use a conventional body-mounted camera, you can point it downwards, but the rear of many vehicles is slightly rounded at the top. A normal reversing camera would capture this curvature and thus obscure the trailer coupling, the running board or the bumper. The LUIS solution: the reversing camera has been integrated into the 3rd brake light glass of the Mercedes Vito. The camera provides a view beyond the curvature and captures the entire rear wall, bumper and any attachments. This is what makes precise maneuvering possible. Automatic white balance and, in particular, automatic backlight compensation ensure good visibility even in challenging lighting conditions. Optimal conditions for accident-free driving and improved work efficiency.
