What are filler timbers used for? When fasteners or hinges rest on hollow aluminum profiles, the aluminum wall quickly buckles slightly when the fastening screws are tightened. Filler timbers are pushed into the chamber of the aluminum profile in the area of the fasteners/hinges when installing the dropside profiles and prevent deformation of the profile wall.
